The Fall of an Angel

Look upon the tears of an angel
Her eyes so battered and worn.
Left upon the bloody field
tis all left but left to mourn.

Come watch as she rises
Her hands are broken and bound.
watch as she cries
upon this that solemn mound.

death of a golden creature
withered to ashes and dust.
never to see the light of day
ever to bear a withering rust.

so deep runs a heated blood
which can never know a return
so lost to the helpless soul
left forever to feel the burn.

with the hope of life's return
let them all remember it well
that for their soaring freedom
one was left to fell.

but once an angel once so lost
will turn to the heavens on high
and from her rustled and battered wings
she will learn what it is to fly.

Ok so I'm entering this artwork in the Wacom Bring Your Vision to Life contest [link] I really love this picture, drawn with pencil and paper and scanned using a not so fabulous scanner so all the details didn't come out as sharp as they should have.

I think the poem sort of heightens the mood and adds a lot of feeling to the piece. I also wrote the poem as well.

And Please guys it would really mean a lot to me if I won because I would get a tablet, which I can't afford . So even if I don't one of the places I can still have a chance as a Community Choice winner which is to get the most number of faves from 12:00:00 AM (PT) May 29, 2009 and 11:59:59 PM (PT) June 4, 2009.
